National Taiwan Normal University cooperates with Vietnam on AI training

National Taiwan Normal University will cooperate with Vietnam’s Can Tho University to train AI, semiconductor, and engineering talent.

The two colleges signed a memorandum of understanding in Taipei. The agreement is an opportunity to expand cooperation between educational institutions in Taiwan and Southeast Asia, according to NTNU.

The Vietnamese delegation included a university deputy president and representatives of the college of engineering, the science research department, the automation technology department, and the department of international relations.

NTNU President Sung Yao-ting (宋曜廷) said the agreement showed that both universities shared the same views on the need for international academic cooperation, the training of technology experts, and transnational exchanges.

NTNU started promoting ties with Vietnam last year, leading to the number of Vietnamese students almost doubling from 146 to 274. They registered for studies involving information technology, engineering, chemistry, technology, and AI-related topics.
