Earlier this year, we were sad to hear about veteran restaurant The Halia’s upcoming closure at the Singapore Botanic Gardens. But not all is lost—home-grown PS.Cafe has recently since introduced an exciting new F&B concept to the gardens. Located an eight-minute walk from the park’s Nassim Gate Visitor Centre, the newly opened Park Side offers a wide selection of eats, from hearty mains to sweet treats. Each dish blends fresh, local flavours with Western influences.

The cafe is housed in a charming cottage, decorated with cute floral prints and surrounded by lush greenery for a rustic, homely vibe. Expect a relaxed dining experience, whether you choose to sit indoors or at the breezy al fresco area.

Kickstart your day with their hearty brunch lineup, served daily from 8am to 4pm.

A standout here is the Hummingbird Pancake ($22++), starring fluffy corn pancakes, topped with creamy coconut mascarpone, caramelised pineapple, and a generous drizzle of Okinawa black sugar caramel.

If you’re craving something savoury, get the Tikka Paneer Toast ($22++) instead, featuring soft, fluffy scrambled eggs on sourdough toast, finished with house-made mango yoghurt and sweet-spicy garam masala brown butter.

The Spiced Fish & Chips ($28++) is another highlight, featuring crispy curry and beer-battered fish, served alongside mango yoghurt, fresh mango slaw, and a tamarind tomato jam. You also get a serving of fries, which comes tossed in amchoor, AKA dry mango powder, for a fruity, citrusy finish.

Apart from the brunch items, Park Side offers several all-day menu items, including their “Rojak” Salad ($22++), which comes with grilled pineapple, shredded cabbage, cucumbers, apple slices, crushed peanuts, tempeh, and crispy fritters, all tossed in a sweet, tangy, and mildly spicy rojak dressing.

Visit the cafe’s in-house ice cream kiosk to end your meal on a sweet note. Indulge in desserts such as the Mud Pie ($14++), pairing creamy vanilla soft serve with brownie bites, cookie crumbs, and caramel, and the Swan Lake ($14++), which tops the same vanilla soft serve with almond flakes and a sweet-tangy mixed berries sauce.

If you’re planning on taking public transport, the Nassim Gate entrance is located a 15-minute walk from Botanic Gardens MRT Station.

Address: 1 Cluny Road, Singapore Botanic Gardens, near Nassim Gate Visitor Centre, Singapore 259569
Opening hours: Mon-Thurs 8am to 7pm, Fri-Sun 8am to 9pm
