Idaho Fish and Game investigates bald eagle killing

The Idaho Department of Fish and Game is investigating the shooting of an adult bald eagle.

The bird was found along the Snake River, a short distance upstream from the Menan boat ramp.

A conservation officer was called to the private property along the river, where he found the dead eagle and several empty, steel shotgun shells nearby.

Investigators believe the bird may have been killed sometime during the waterfowl season, which ended in January.

Killing a bald eagle is illegal.
