Fatal accident blocks traffic on Yellowstone Avenue in Chubbuck

67-year-old Randy Cherry, of Chubbuck, was driving 2001 Dodge Pickup south on Yellowstone Avenue when his vehicle left the right side of the roadway. The truck rolled, struck a power pole, and came to rest off the right shoulder on its top.

Cherry was pronounced deceased at the scene of the crash. He was not wearing a seatbelt. The roadway was blocked for several hours as crews cleared power lines from the crash.

Original Story: Idaho State Police are responding to a fatal crash on Yellowstone Avenue between Park Lawn Drive and Siphon Road in Chubbuck.

Idaho State Police say the vehicle involved was driving south on Yellowstone when they swerved off the road, hitting a telephone pole and flipping the vehicle. The driver was the only person inside the vehicle. That driver, a male, was killed in the accident.
