JOHOR BARU - A viral video showing what appears to be a vehicle repossession dispute in Johor is being investigated by the police.
In the two 14-second clips posted on Facebook, a man believed to be the vehicle owner, can be seen struggling with three men trying to get into a dark blue Toyota Hilux.

After one of the men got in, the owner latched onto the side of the vehicle as it was being driven off.

Johor Baru North OCPD Asst Comm Mohd Taib Ahmad said the incident occurred along Jalan Sutera Tanjung, Taman Sutera Utama, yesterday at about 1.30pm.

He said the owner, aged 33, and one of the three men, have made separate police reports.

"Initial investigations showed the owner had just finished dining at a nearby restaurant with his wife.

"When he started the car, three men opened the driver's door and dragged him out of the vehicle, " he said, adding that a struggle ensued, causing slight injuries to the owner.

ACP Mohd Taib said the owner held on to the moving vehicle for about 8km before he was let off in Taman University.

The case would be investigated under Section 394 of the Penal Code for causing voluntary hurt while committing a robbery and Section 279 of the same Act for rash driving, he said.

"We are looking for three men to help in investigations. This is a serious case and we are looking at all aspects including criminal, " he said.
