Keith A. Strawn was sentenced to 120 days in prison for felony injury to a child, his daughter. Strawn must serve at least 60 days consecutively and then he may file for work release.

Judge Moeller ordered Strawn to serve a suspended sentence of four years in prison with two years fixed and two years indeterminate. Strawn will serve that sentence as 4 year probation period.

Strawn was charged with the crime after he took his daughter out of state to marry Aaron Seaton, after Seaton had raped the girl and got her pregnant.

Judge Greg Moeller handed down the sentence Tuesday. Strawn's attorney originally asked for just a ten-day sentence, which Moeller denied.

"The defendant did not fully understand the seriousness of the matter," said Moeller.

"Your daughter needed a parent, not an enabler. You failed her. I believe bad parental judgement had a lot to do with it. You weren't alone in your poor judgement but you were the legal guardian," Moeller said during sentencing.

"Bottom line when you have a daughter who has been victimized it is your duty to report it," finished Moeller.

During the hearing Strawn was giving the opportunity to allocute. "I love my daughter very much, never would I do anything to put her in harms way. I'm eternally sorry," Strawn stated.

As part of today's sentencing hearing additional information was provided showing Strawn's daughter had been previously sexually assaulted while living in the custody of the girl's mother. No charges were ever filed in that case.

Judge Moeller also sentenced Strawn to 100 hours of community service and to pay restitution to the victim. The prosecution has 60 days to file the terms of that restitution.
