Construction site SOPs, double tracking project to be raised in Dewan

KUALA LUMPUR: SOPs for construction sites, the Klang Valley Double Tracking Phase 2 (KVDT2) project and aid for rubber tappers will be among the topics raised in the Dewan Rakyat today.

According to the Order Paper, Idris Jusoh (BN-Besut) will ask the plantation industries and commodities minister during question-and-answer time about the ministry’s efforts to address the unstable price of rubber.

Ahmad Johnie Zawawi (GPS-Igan) wants the works minister to explain the action being taken against construction sites that do not comply with the SOPs on Covid-19.

Meanwhile, Loke Siew Fook (PH-Seremban) will pose a question to the prime minister on the attorney-general’s comments regarding the government’s decision to revoke the KVDT2 project contract with Dhaya Maju LTAT and the likely legal implications.

The debate on the Supply Bill 2021 will also continue for the third day.

The sitting until tomorrow will be four hours only – from 10am to 2pm – with a maximum of 80 MPs – 41 from the government and 39 from the opposition and independents – allowed at any one time, as a precaution against the spread of Covid-19.

The current meeting will end on Dec 15.
