After months of speculation, Charlene Choi finally gives a relationship update.
The 42-year-old Hong Kong singer was at an event at Tsim Sha Tsui with her fellow Twins group member Gillian Chung. The media seized the opportunity to probe about her rumoured relationship with 33-year-old fitness trainer Elvis Lam. Rumours of their relationship started last August after they were spotted together at Hong Kong singer Terence Lam’s concert. Charlene surprisingly decided to be real open this time. When asked if her “rumoured boyfriend” taking centre position in a recent birthday group photo meant he has been upgraded to an official partner, the singer gave a straightforward response. “Actually, you can remove the word ‘rumoured’," she said. You heard her — no more "rumoured boyfriend", just "boyfriend". This marked Charlene's first clear public response regarding the relationship, pretty much signally that they're officially together. Gay romance rumours have surfaced in Chinese showbiz for what is believed to be the first time.
Buzz sparked after paparazzi footage showed actors He Changxi, 29, formerly of boyband UNINE, and The First Frost star Su Yiyang, 31, sharing an unusually close interaction. The incident has drawn attention for breaking an unspoken rule in the Chinese entertainment industry, where paparazzi traditionally steer clear of reporting alleged gay romances involving male stars. According to a recent video released by entertainment blogger 优点娱乐 (You Dian Yu Le), Changxi was seen heading straight to Yiyang’s home after wrapping up work. Looking visibly tired, the pair were seen hugging at the doorway. “So being with your best bro really is healing?” the blogger quipped in the caption. While the interaction itself remains open to interpretation, netizens were quick to note that the two actors have known each other for some time. They previously worked together on 2025 web drama 不思异:志怪 (Bu Si Yi: Zhi Guai), and online sleuths have observed that the two frequently visit the same gym, posting photos with strikingly similar backgrounds. They were also believed to have travelled together to the Qing Shan Lake Water Forest in Hangzhou during China’s National Day holiday in 2024. The incident has also reignited discussion about shifting boundaries in the Chinese entertainment industry. Changxi, who rose to fame after participating in the talent competition Youth With You, stars in BL writer Chai Jidan’s new drama 初三的六一兒童節 (Chu San De Liu Yi Er Tong Jie), prompting some netizens to question whether the footage was released as a publicity move. However, observers noted the person linked to Changxi in the alleged romance is not his co-star in the drama He Yanchao. Heated Rivalry is changing the game when it comes to romance TV, and while its main stars, Hudson Williams and Connor Storrie, have become Hollywood’s latest heartthrobs, so has Robbie Graham-Kuntz, better known as Robbie G.K. The Canadian actor plays the fan-favorite — and the only main character who’s not a hockey player — Kip Grady, whose relationship with Scott Hunter (François Arnaud) unfolds in season 1.
Robbie G.K. Studied Musical Theatre Robbie’s professional journey began at the age of 13 when he landed a stage role as Kurt von Trapp in The Sound of Music at the Princess of Wales Theatre. The Port Credit, Ontario, native studied musical theatre at the Etobicoke School of the Arts in Toronto. Robbie Originally Auditioned for a Different Role on Heated Rivalry Although fans adore him as their Kip Grady, Robbie initially auditioned for the part of Scott in Heated Rivalry. He even grew a moustache and had a mullet while auditioning for the part, Robbie told reporters in December 2025. “I think living in Canada, I have a stereotypical view of what hockey is and what hockey people are like,” he explained. “I had like a mullet and a mustache going on.” Although Robbie was turned down to play Scott, series creator Jacob Tierney approached him to play Kip. After reading with François, Robbie was confident that he was the right choice to play Scott. He Changed His Professional Name to Robbie G.K. Robbie adopted his professional name as “G.K.” instead of his actual name, Graham-Kountz, in 2023. He’s Appeared in Multiple TV Shows and Films Although Heated Rivalry is Robbie’s most well-known role, he’s appeared in a slew of other series and movies. He starred in The Next Step as Charlie, The Stanley Dynamic as Wes, Utopia Falls as Tempo 3, Overcompensating as Riley and, most recently, Sheriff Country as Deputy Chris Whitley. In film, Robbie appeared in Antisocial 2, Full Out, Golden Boys, Marry F**k Kill and The House Call. Robbie Plays Rugby Being a working actor is Robbie’s priority, but he also makes time to keep up with rugby. Jessie Buckley is one of the most versatile actresses in Hollywood at the moment. That’s it. How diplomatic can I sound?” Jay Chou To Play At Australian Open, Says He’ll Donate S$1.3mil Prize Money To Charity If He Wins1/20/2026
It is no secret that Jay Chou is obsessed with tennis. Just check out his Instagram, where the Mandopop King regularly shares about his tennis journey.
But the 46-year-old going pro (sort of) was not on our bingo card list. Wait, could Jay have actually heard us when we jokingly mentioned many moons ago that playing in an Open was the next step? In an Instagram post, Jay surprised fans when he announced that he would be “competing” at the Australian Open. Jay also added that if he wins, he will donate the entire US$1mil (S$1.28mil) prize money to charity. Before anyone starts picturing Jay lifting a Grand Slam trophy besides the greats, let’s clarify. He is participating in the tennis tournament's special exhibition event called ‘1 Point Slam’, a fast-paced, winner-takes-all format where a single point decides the match. Yes, one point only. Designed to inject fun into the tournament, ‘1 Point Slam’ is meant to attract younger audiences to the sport. Of course, Jay is fully aware of this and wasted no time managing expectations, saying the match could be over under a minute. He even thinks that he might get knocked out before even touching the ball, adding that his game plan is to serve first. “At least I will get to hit the ball once,” he joked in an IG Story. However, Jay also advised overseas fans not to splurge on airfare just for a blink-and-you’ll-miss-it match. “So, there’s no need to fly all the way here,” he wrote, though he encouraged fans in Australia to turn up and cheer him on. Fans were excited at their idol doing what he obviously loved, many cheering him on in the comments. One even appealed to his competitors: “It’s for a good cause. Please let Jay win.” By now, we already know that overseas celebrities have their favourite dishes to eat every time they visit Singapore, perhaps indulging in it once or twice.
But nine times? That's what Taiwanese singer-songwriter Crowd Lu did when he was in town over the weekend for his HeartBreakFast World Tour. Yes, the 40-year-old loves chicken rice so much he had it nine times while he was here. In an interview with reporters, Crowd admitted that he’s a big fan of Singapore’s Hainanese chicken rice and pandan cake. While it wasn’t revealed how many days he was here for, Crowd had already eaten chicken rice nine times as of the interview. He even joked about it on stage, saying that eating so much chicken rice caused him to “cough up phlegm” while clearing his throat. The most amazing part? He doesn’t seem sick of it at all. Comparing eating chicken rice to performing, Crowd mused that it’s like singing the same song — each time feels different. “Even though you eat chicken rice many times, each time the order and combination of cucumber, chili, or dark soy sauce can bring a different sense of freshness and joy,” he quipped. For a public figure, their social media account is undoubtedly one of the main tools for building a career and defining their personal brand.
So just imagine how painful it is to lose all that hard work overnight. A new account by local actress Ferlyn G — @ferlyngileen — suddenly surfaced on Instagram. Before you wonder if it's yet another scammer or impersonator, no, this one's the real deal. On the new account, the bio read: "A new awakening. I'll explain soon... please give me some time". Meanwhile, the bio on the 33-year-old's original account, @ferlyngofficial, was changed to: "Important update. This account is currently private and [will] be deleted." The now-defunct page, which Ferlyn has been using for years, has 120K followers. "Please follow my new account: ferlyngileen," urged the former K-pop girl group Skarf member. Though Ferlyn's two accounts did not divulge much about what had happened, it was later revealed through the socials of her showbiz pals that her initial page had actually been hacked. Many of Ferlyn's celeb friends, especially her Emerald Hill co-stars, have also taken to their respective Instagram Stories to help the actress publicise her new page. "Ferlyn's previous account was hacked. Restarting from zero isn't easy, please spare a moment to follow her new account and show some love," wrote Mediacorp actor Romeo Tan. Jesseca Liu also urged her fans to follow Ferlyn as her "old IG account has issues". "It's tough to restart all over again, especially so when our industry judges us based on our followings and numbers. Hope you can give this girl some strength and continue to show her the support she strongly needs right now," said Benjamin Tan. At press time, Ferlyn's new account has already ganied 3,559 new followers. Tyler Ten Flaunts Ripped Bod At Fan Meet; Says He’d Only Ditch His Killer Bod For One Reason1/20/2026
Tyler Ten has never been one to shy away from flaunting his bod. And honestly, no one's complaining.
The 29-year-old Mediacorp actor, along with Chantalle Ng, was in Kuala Lumpur for an exclusive Astro fan meet when he sent fans into a screaming frenzy. When the host casually mentioned his hot bod, Tyler, who donned a black singlet underneath a denim jacket, casually peeled off the outer layer in a heartbeat. And out came the defined biceps as he flashed a smile for the cameras. Sure, we have seen the goods before (Emerald Hill’s Bai Ah Li, anyone?), but it somehow never gets old. And hey, if you have it, flaunt it. Tyler also revealed that while filming Emerald Hill in Malaysia, he indulged in food quite a bit. In fact, he rattled on about already having eight eggs, wonton noodles, and egg tarts before the event. Tyler also shared that his roles often seem to come with an unspoken 'must-show-skin' requirement, which, in his words, is reason enough to keep staying in shape. No pressure, Tyler. But he also admitted he wouldn’t be married to the muscles forever, and says if a role truly called for it, he would be willing to say goodbye to the Adonis bod. Taiwanese star Vivian Hsu, 50, shared on Instagram a terrifying late-night incident that could have ended in disaster.
The singer-actress, based in both Taiwan and Singapore, revealed that she was preparing to take a shower late at night when a water pipe inside her bathroom wall burst without warning. The powerful surge of water sent the showerhead flying, leaving the bathroom in complete mess. Vivian, stunned by the force of the blast, shared that she cried out in shock, but was relieved she wasn’t standing directly in the range of fire. "If it had hit my body directly, my ribs could have broken, and my head could have been struck as well," she penned. She immediately pressed down on the shower pipe and shut off the water, preventing the accident from getting worse. As she recalled the incident, Vivian expressed relief that the incident happened to her rather than her 10-year-old son, Dalton. She wrote: “Thank God my son didn’t encounter this when he showered earlier at 10pm. Showering is supposed to be relaxing — a child wouldn’t have been able to react in time, and the consequences could have been terrifying.” Admitting she was still shaken by the incident, Vivian added: “Before going to sleep, I prayed that if something bad was destined to happen, please let me take my son’s place.” It could have happened to anyone, but thankfully, Vivian escaped unscathed. Owning your own home is a dream for many. For Malaysia-born Mediacorp actor Zhang Zetong, that's a milestone he finally managed to unlock last year.
In December, the 32-year-old shared on his Instagram that he's now a "mortgage slave". "Hitting a life milestone: I got my first home," he gushed. "I honestly didn't think i would feel so much about it, very thankful and grateful for this." The Star Search 2019 champion subsequently revealed in an interview with reporters that he had purchased an apartment in the west side of Singapore. He received the keys to his new home at the end of 2025, and renovations are now underway. He expects to move in around April. The new homeowner went on to speak about his newfound "sense of security" after buying a home. "I’ve been renting for nearly 16 years, and now I finally have a place of my own. It really feels like an achievement," he mused. He added that buying a house had never been a personal goal, but the challenges he faced while renting eventually made him decide to stop being a tenant. For instance, a landlord once suddenly decided to sell the unit and asked him to move out on short notice. Another time, during the pandemic, his landlord even raised the rent by 70 per cent in one shot, which he described as “way too much”. That then made Zetong determined to give himself a year to look for a suitable home. |
