Chinese Actor Apologises After Affair Leaks, Amid Claims He Brought Daughter On Tryst With Mistress

Chinese actor Song Ningfeng is at the centre of a major scandal after explosive allegations of an affair — with claims he even brought his five-year-old daughter along on a tryst with his mistress.

According to chat logs, photos and audio recordings that surfaced on March 31, Ningfeng, 45, best known for his role in 2020 drama Goodbye, My Lover, allegedly hid his marital status when he met a woman identified as Ms Q at a work event in January 2025.

The two reportedly began a relationship soon after, with Ningfeng allegedly promising he would divorce his wife, Zhang Wanting, who is also his manager.  

Reports further claim he brought his young daughter to his rendezvous with Ms Q and did not refrain from intimate behaviour in the child’s presence. The pair also reportedly exchanged explicit photos in private.

When Wanting learned about the affair earlier in March, Ningfeng allegedly tried to contain the situation by asking Ms Q to maintain they were “just chatting.”

However, in audio recordings that later surfaced, Ningfeng admitted he had initiated the relationship, before shifting the blame, saying: “But you also knew I had a family. Wanting is going to sue you… Why should I compensate you? You ruined my family, shouldn’t you be the one compensating me?”

Wanting was also accused of threatening Ms Q, allegedly warning that her explicit photos would be made public if she did not cut off contact with Ningfeng.

The couple were reportedly planning to take legal action against Ms Q and seek compensation.

After the allegations blew up online, Ningfeng posted a lengthy apology on Weibo, saying he would no longer deny or deflect responsibility.

“If more recordings or chat logs come out today, let me make one thing clear first: whatever it is, it’s my fault,” he wrote, acknowledging that the statements heard in the recordings were real and describing them as the “most selfish, cowardly and shameless” version of himself.

He apologised to his wife, saying he now recognises the pain he caused her, and added that the controversy surrounding her alleged threats stemmed from his own actions.

Addressing concerns about his daughter, Ningfeng clarified that she was asleep in another room during his meeting with Ms Q and “didn’t see or hear anything”, though he admitted his behaviour already made him “an unfit father.”

He also apologised to Ms Q, admitting he had concealed his marriage and made promises he could not keep, before later attempting to shift blame onto her.

Ningfeng added that he will suspend all acting work indefinitely and seek professional help, and said he will accept any decision his wife makes moving forward.

The couple previously drew attention for their rocky marriage.

They had only been dating for a month when Wanting became pregnant with their daughter in 2020. They also share a two-year-old son.

Their once appeared on reality show See You Again 2 in an attempt to repair their relationship and admitted on the show that they would have likely split if not for the unexpected pregnancy.

Ningfeng was previously married to actress Qi Xi. The pair were together for several years before divorcing in 2019.
